Community News

CC & R Office

As we come up to our rainy season, we would like you to be aware of what residents can do to help the water run off through their properties.

Cameron Park needs its residents to help clear the way for winter stormwater runoff.  Our stormwater system is primarily an above ground drainage system that relies on all landowners and residents to clear culverts, swales and ditches on their property which comprises the interconnected drainage system for stormwater.  Each landowner has a responsibility to keep clear culverts, swales, and ditchers on their property. Here’s how you can help –

  • Obtain a grading permit from El Dorado County Planning Department when grading for homeowner improvement projects.
  • Remove debris from culverts, swales, and ditches on your property.
  • Report unpermitted grading to El Dorado County Code Enforcement
  • Report clogged roadside drains to El Dorado County Department of Transportation
  • Call 911 if a life-threatening event exists.

Watershed issues resulting in flooding from a residential property to other properties is not a CC&R department enforced item, but a civil matter between residents. Landowners and residents must work together to clear the existing drainage system that exists on their property to improve the overall stormwater drainage system in Cameron Park.

We appreciate your support!
